From Dr. Crissman...
On January 8, 2009, the State Board of Education (SBE) approved the use of reading and mathematics Retest I scores at grades 3-8 and the use of science Retest I scores at grades 5 and 8 for calculating ABCs Performance Composite and AYP results for the 2008-09 school year and beyond.  As a result of the SBE’s decision, all public school students at grades 3-8 who score Achievement Level II on the Regular (i.e., first) administration of the end-of-grade reading, mathematics, and/or science assessments must be administered Retest I.
Students at grades 3-8 who score Achievement Level I on the Regular administration are not required to take Retest I.  However, parents may contact the school and request that their child participate in Retest I.
Letters will be sent home with those students on May 24 and May 25th. Phone calls will also be made. Letters must be signed and returned on May 29th.
