Study Island
Study Island is an excellent tool to help your child prepare for the EOGs, which will be here before you know it. Please check your child's planner at the beginning of the week for the Language Arts assignment. Students are only allowed to work on the assigned lessons. Remember to read the lesson explanation at the beginning and only do five to ten questions at a time. We are interested in quality, not quantity. However, if the assignment is done each night, we will see some quantity as well.
A.R.
Please monitor your child's Accelerated Reader progress. Four points per month is the minimum. I am encouraging the students to do more than they were in August and September. Set some goals with your child and watch him/her soar!! We should have some new members in the 100 point club very soon.
Scrapbook
We are currently working on North Carolina from A-Z for our scrapbook. Again, most of the work/research will be done in class but I'm sure we'll need you to proofread later on. So far we've completed A to D. Ask your student what or who did they choose for those letters and see how much they've learned!

Math
In math this quarter we have been working on two digit by two digit multi-plication and two digit by two digit division. The children should continue to practice these skills at home to develop mastery. We have begun a unit on probabilities and predictions. We will then move on to pattern exploration.
End of grade tests are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, May 19, 20 and 21. That leaves us FOUR WEEKS to get ready for the EOGs. In preparation we will be reviewing the material that we have covered in math this year. Some of the work will be done in class and some will be assigned for homework. I will go over all the completed assignments in class.
