Volunteers are an important part of the
Apex Elementary community.
Once thought to be the province of parents, our school is eager to involve the entire community including individuals, senior citizens, college students, businesses, churches and synagogues, community groups and others in support of education.
WCPSS has a mandatory online registration for volunteers. Anyone who wishes to visit the classroom for ANY reason other than conferences MUST complete the online application of security clearance resulting in a Green Volunteer Badge. The application may be completed at any Wake County school on Mondays only at this time. At Apex, this may be done between 8:35 am and 3:00 pm in the school library. It only takes 5-10 minutes and is designed to protect your secure information. You will need your social security number and driver's license number. Your registration must be renewed each year.
A security clearance is good for 2 years. If you completed the application last year, you are now in the INACTIVE file and you must reactivate your file. You will need to log on and your information from last year will appear. Make any changes or additions as necessary, such as child's teacher, children's names, schools where you wish to volunteer, etc.
|YOU MUST HAVE A GREEN VOLUNTEER BADGE TO ENTER MAIN HALLWAY FOR ANY ACTIVITIES IN THE CLASSROOM OR SCHOOL LIBRARY. A GREEN BADGE IS ALSO REQUIRED FOR FIELD TRIPS, CLASSROOM PICNICS AND FIELD DAY.
