Wake County Public School System receives an allotment from North Carolina Department of Public Instruction each year for School Technology Fund. These dollars have been used as a matching amount to replace outdated computers at the school level. Many thanks to Ms. Reid for all her hard work in making this happen for Apex Elementary and Apex Elementary students!

Apex Elementary is proud . . .
of the following staff members who have achieved certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS):
Mrs. Meg Dalton
•Mrs. Lynda Brown
•Mrs. Jan Evenhouse
•Mrs. Sherry McKee

National Board Certification measures a teacher's practice against high and rigorous standards. The process is an extensive series of performance-based assessments that includes teaching portfolios, student work samples, videotapes and thorough analyses of the candidates' classroom teaching and student learning. Teachers also complete a series of written exercises that probe the depth of their subject-matter knowledge, as well as their understanding of how to teach those subjects to their students.
