Mary Casey reported that Cougar Care is now open. Contact mimicasey@bellsouth.net with any questions. Wake PTA Council is having a Healthy Lifestyles 5K run/walk on Nov 22 at 3:30 at NC State. For more information go to www.pta5k.org .
Leslie Epstein reported Innisbrook raised $19,440, not including electronic/web purchases. We receive 50% of total sales. Citipass books go home November 9. Each one costs $25.00. Unpurchased books must be returned.
Meredith Schaller explained PTA budget &YTD Summary 9/29/2009. $800 was received from Target for Red Card purchases. There will now be an annual payment from Target. $335 in vouchers for the school store given out so far. Special grants received YTD$261.50
JoAnn Miller reported on Membership. There are 269 members with 4,545 raised before state dues of $739.75 to be paid. $715 in coupons given out. $3,495 income.
Dr. Crissman and Mrs. Pratt for school news: added a 75% teacher for 4th grade – Mrs.Taulmann. This allows 2 teams (Faulhaber/Hale and Lee/Taulman) at 4th grade level with 25 students in each class. Mrs. Taulmann's students will be selected from existing classrooms this week and begin instruction 10-6-09.
Added 50% teacher for 5th grade – will focus on providing support in reading instruction.
Principal in British Columbia contacted Dr. Crissman to express interest in using PAWS Program along with our website information and graphics.
Stop, walk and talk to be implemented school wide.
Oct 12-14 vision screening to be held at grades 1,3 and 5.
Mrs. Shay discussed her responsibilities and upcoming testing periods.
Ms. Bryant expressed gratitude for parent volunteers and discussed Family Reading Night, Visiting Author and Book Fair.
Jean Erlemann discussed After School Clubs, offered Oct 22,29 and Nov 5, 12. Volunteers needed.
