tutor/mentoring program

Some children learn faster than others. That's a fact of life. At Apex Elementary School, we're committed to making sure all of our students succeed, and no one falls through the cracks. That's why the PTA started a tutoring/mentoring program. The program is designed to provide extra help for students who just need a little more attention or academic encouragement. But we need your help. The program cannot succeed without the dedication of many volunteers. We are asking every parent - moms and dads - to consider committing at least one hour per week for the entire school year for this worthwhile program. The more volunteers we get, the more children we can help. Volunteers can specify what days and times they are available, what grade level they'd prefer to work with, and what subject they'd like to teach. Tutoring is offered in reading, math and writing. Interested but afraid you don't have the skills to help? Not a problem. We will be offering training for all volunteers before they begin working with students.
